Hello respected TH members, am planning to upgrade my pc in the coming months and I would like some pointers to guide me.
This is my system:
GIGABYTE gtx 980 Model GV-N980D5-4GD-B
16 gb ram
ASUS Z97-A MB
i7 4790k

I would like to upgrade to triple 1440 monitors and add another 980 to the system. Am looking for an optimum gaming experience. I haven't used a 1440 monitor before but I read it's amazing, am aiming for a 24" to 27". My questions are:
-does my VC support such transaction and does the new VC has to be the exact same model?
-what should I look in a monitor to qualify for my needs? (Am looking at this one for the moment)
-how good can the new system setup handle triple 1440 monitors?
-what's a good aspect ratio for a triple monitor setup.
-for this setup, should I worry about things like tearing or monitor response time or ghosting.
-I might ask more as I get answers for these questions. Thanks for putting the time to read this.

3 x 1440p monitors will just about bring your graphics cards to a stop unless you play at minimum settings. I'd recommend 1080p instead.

Any two gtx980s will work in SLI.

Get normal 1080p (or 1440p if you have to) 16:9 monitors. Everything runs better at native resolution.
