Hello. I'm currently new to this so if this is in the wrong area I appogize.
But yesterday I decided I would update my bios on my PC since the last time it was updated was in 2012. I did so first by using and exe from asrock's website (bad idea I know). At first this was successful and I was already seeing improved gaming performance. However after about 10 minutes of the pc being on it would freeze so I'd have to reboot. Then I decided I'd try to update my bios with a usb using instant flash. But I never made the usb a proper UFIE bootable device. But the bios still said it successfully updated. Now my PC says my western digital HDD with windows is not a bootable device anymore. Staying there is no usable operating system. I know the problem isn't the boot options because I've already tried doing so.
So this is where I ask if I could just install a new version of windows and this will be fixed. Or will I have to flash bios again with the proper usb files?

If I'm totally wrong please correct me and enlighten me with the proper details. I want to fix this as soon as possible. Any helps is greatly appreciated.
Quick PC specs :
Asrock 970 extreme4
AMD FX 8350 4.0ghz
GTX 970 4gb SC

Additional info : I also made the mistake of updating bios whilst my GPU was over clocked. But as far as I'm aware, there are no physical damages to my PC. Thank you again.

Welcome to the community, woblor101!

Well, I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are encountering with your system! :(
I'd maybe try resetting BIOS to its factory default settings by re-seating the CMOS battery or using one of the other methods listed here: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS
Then you'd need to boot into BIOS and re-configure the settings though.
If that doesn't help, a proper flash of BIOS might do the trick. I'd also recommend these couple of links with some guides that could be useful to you:

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting! Hope these...

Solution
Hi again, woblor101! :)

Unfortunately, I can't really elaborate on how common this issue is, because I'm mostly monitoring the Storage section of the community. However, I often strongly advise against updating the motherboard BIOS unless you have severe problems with the mobo itself or some sort of hardware compatibility issue.
Unlike all the other system & hardware updates that are essential for the PC performance, a BIOS update is not really a necessary update. I'm not sure now where exactly the update went wrong with you, but I hope it didn't corrupt the firmware which would make the computer unbootable.
Be very careful how you proceed from now on and do your research and read through the guides I've shared above. If you doubt yourself to any extend about the troubleshooting execution, I recommend going to a professional repair services.

I hope everything works out! Either way, keep me posted! :)
