cpu and graphic cards spins a sec then dies after graphics card is cleaned and reinstalled.

heres whats happening..my pc was working just fine when i decided to clean my graphics card. after re installing it. the cpu fan and graphics fan spins for a sec then stops.
i did a test..i used my old mobo. i did not installed it in the cpu case but installed the cpu fan and graphics card. the cpu fan and graphics fan turns on.....but the weird things is that when i installed the old mobo back to the case the same thing happens.

nothing turns on...the fans just spins briefly then dies after a sec. i also noticed that the power fan doesnt even spin. only the cpu fans and graphics card.

ok yes but does the pc turn off when the fan stops or not? (in order to eliminate causes for if the pc turns off or not)

ok so the fans spin for a sec then the entire pc dies (and maybe repeats the process until you remove the power?)

Does the old mobo work on the same PSU? If it doesn't......... could be a faulty PSU.

nothing turns on. when it dies it doesn't turn on anymore even when the power button is pushed. i have to unplug but the same happens again.

yes it does. i used the same psu and case. but weird is that when i place the old mobo inside the case the same thing happens.

1. the most probable cause
Your pc may be failing the POST (power on self test) -usually because of unstable oc settings
Simply remove the battery on the motherboard for a few minutes then put it back and try again
2. the fans may not be properly connected and causes the pc to turn off when it reaches too high temperatures (maybe also old thermal paste)
3. the mobo may have an electrical surge- try looking for something that may cause it
4. unlikely
your psu might have broke (in a worst case scenario...)

thanks but regarding #3 how do i figure an electrical surge? its also weird bacause whenever i try to screw the old mobo to the case the same happens.
