This has never happened before,
Basically, the ping will go up from 40 to about 200 and then back to 40, this is happening constantly and u know, this makes the game unplayable
Have been looking for the solution for a the past few days
The strange thing is that other laptops dont have ping spikes, only mine
but this has never happened before to my laptop
This may have something to do with regedit because i change several things
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Solution
For one, wireless in notoriously inconsistent with ping times even just to your router. There is really no fixing that, and swings in the 300-400% range aren't unheard of.

Secondly, once the data is past your router and outside of your location there isn't really all that much that you can do since it's probably the route your data is taking causing some sort of delay.

Other network traffic can also cause delays, as can interference and signal degradation that can be environmental like other electronics and especially things that use the same spectrum you are on.

At first I would start by eliminating things. Take two laptops and set them side by side and then use 'ping -t ' and then your router's IP and watch it for a bit. Does...

Really appreciate your answer guys, but the strange thing is that first, i never had this problem before, next my other laptops have no ping spikes, so i dont believe that this is an issue with the modem

So, by that you are saying you haven't done any troubleshooting at all? Pretty sure neither of us put any blame on the modem... one was a driver reinstall and the other was test the connection stability to the router with multiple machines in the same location to ensure the problem was in fact on your machine.

i have been having exactly the same problem. My laptop next to my desktop pc is running perfectly normal when my desktop pc with a wireless adaptor runs so slow! I had this problem 1-2 years now, changing modems, formatting, drivers reinstall, changing adaptor didnt work. I have no idea whats going on. ._.
i have posted a similar topic about this problem
its so sad, it makes gaming almost impossible almost all the day
