Will I need to update BIOS for this build? If so is there a better motherboard where I can avoid this issue? Any additional tips/comments are appreciated (This is my first build)
Build: CPU: AMD FX 8350 4GHz 8-core
CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P ATX AM3+/AM3
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
GPU: HIS Radeon R9 280X 3Gb IceQ X^2
Case: Cooler Master K280 ATX
PSU: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified

Buy an FX 8320 and overclock it to 8350 speeds

Motherboards that are way better and will NOT need a BIOS update

or
even better

It would be very rare to find a board now that didnt support Vishera . It would have had to been sitting on a shelf for 2 years .
But the two boards I have suggested are newer models . They are also both excellent overclocking boards .

The psu is ordinary as logain suggested . You can do better there as well
