Yesterday my friend and I updated some of the hardware on my computer. We changed the motherboard, CPU and the GPU but left everything else the same. the New hardware is a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard, w/ AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7GHz Socket AM3+ 220W FD9590FHHKWOF Desktop Processor - Black Edition, and EVGA 04G-P4-2986-KR GeForce GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card. In addition, I mounted my old corsair h100i liquid cpu cooler. After powering up and the initial process of reactivating windows and such, I soon began to play some games, now being able to use ultra settings across the board. After settling into Assassins Creed Rogue for about 45 minutes, the screen went black and my headset made a continuous buzzing noise. I had to manually reset, and then gave my pc a break for awhile. Later, I began to play again and played for something more akin to 2 hours and then the same crash again. I already ran Prime95 torture test all night and got great results at an almost continuous 4.65 GHz, so I figured that ruled out any problem with the processor, anyone have any Idea what else might be wrong? i just bought the new components, and I am NOT overclocking anything. When I get home I plan to run the Memtest86 to see if something may have happened to the RAM while being changed between Motherboards, and then I will make sure all the drives are up to date. What else could it be? someone please help.
