Wireless router keeps dropping internet for all users?

does your area have intermittent Internet outages?

there's a couple potential issues here:
1. your ISP has spotty service in the area (nothing you can fix)
2. your modem has a bad connection to either your router or the ISP - check the modem to see if it's continually connected to the downstream while your wireless Internet is down
3. your router is shutting off for some reason - check your power connection, make sure it's not overheating
4. the area in which you live is so heavily blanketed with wireless networks that your router cannot find an available band to broadcast on (nothing really you can fix)
5. your router is defective

I would update the firmware, as, if this is a router issue, it may have been corrected in an update. Be care if you update the firmware and follow all the instruction.

Try another channel, as you might be getting interference with some other wifi in your area, or for that matter, your microwave or phone.
http://wvw.xirrus.com/wifi-inspector will let you see the wifis in your area and the channel they are using.

This could be an ISP issue.
