3-4 Month Old Gaming PC - Random crashes + can't complete Windows updates

I built my own gaming PC a couple months back with assistance from my friend. It's been running well until the first month. Skyrim would continuously enter into a white screen and cause my PC to freeze/shut down. It wasn't extremely frequent until the last couple of days. The crashes happen every half hour when I'm gaming, and they either force me to hard shutdown my PC or do it themselves. The other issue is that once my PC restarts it starts a Windows update that always results in a screen saying "We couldn't complete the updates, undoing changes, don't turn off your computer". It takes about 2-3 hours for Windows to undo the changes and go into the log in screen, and I can go back to my usual routine until it hard shuts down again. Additionally, my computer has been entering a black screen with no shortcuts or anything. The only way I can end this is by going into task manager and ending Run Once Wrapper. Finally, for a moderately high end rig, my PC has had rather low FPS in games such as Dying Light, which I should be able to run on ultra settings with 60 FPS. From what I've seen on the web, I'm guessing it's a PSU issue, but I'm not sure. What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I'll check that out. One question though: Why not the power supply? It seems pretty logical that a faulty power supply could be causing the shut downs.
