I'm debating on what I want to do with my machine, right now my machine has a GTX 780, i7 4820k @ 4.1GHz, Evga 1200W P2 power supply, GA-X79 UP-4 motherboard and the Samsung 850 pro 512GB SS+1tb WD drive. I was looking at getting SLI 980s and a few new monitors, 1440P+Gsync (27in or 24, atl east 2) with a budget of 3.5-4K. Right now I have 2 1080P monitors (BenQ/Asus). I got to thinking though with that budget I could get a single 980, a mid/high end x99 board+processor and some ram and wait for a monitor down the road. Just wondering if anyone could provide any input as to which path I should take. Thanks.

If it was my decision to make, I'd do the graphics and monitor(s) upgrade, I'm not really seeing that much of a performance advantage going to the X99 from the X79. Wait for the X109 (or whatever) for what should amount to some kind of appreciable performance increase.
Just my take here.
