How does MSI BIOS flash updating work

Hi,

I intend to update my motherboards BIOS to the latest version. On MSI's support page for my motherboard (http://www.msi.com/support/mb/970A-G43.html#down-bios) there are several versions available.

Are these cumulative, i.e. I only have to install the latest one, or individual where I have to install them separately form old to new?

You download a zip file, unzip it and execute it.

The latest one overwrites the one you've already got installed.

When trying to execute the file from the desktop, I get this:

Then you chosen the wrong bios or OS or there's something wrong with the file.

The BIOS updates in the link in my OP are the only ones available...

you need to run this file in your motherboard bios which is normally tapping delete key as it boots and in your bios there will be flash bios or something similar I do not know exactly as I am used too asus but in the flash tool you tell it where your bios is to flash and continue and takes a few minutes but will complete suggest putting it in easy location too find e.g. C:\temp\

RARRAF, thanks for the advice. I eventually managed to update the BIOS by using the MSI Live Update utility which automatically detects updates.
