I have recently been thinking of buying a new gaming pc this year to play the latest games.
I would like to know if this is a good price for the parts I have chosen and if it can run the latest games.

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690k
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS5X Performa
Operating System: Windows 8.1
Mother Board: Gigabyte H81M-S2H
RAM: 8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengance (2x4GB)
Hard Drive: 1TB S-ATAIII
Optical Drive: 22x DVD+RW DL S-ATA
Graphics Card: Asus Geforce GTX 980 4GB Strix OC
Sound Card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Case: Zalman Z1
PSU: 750W FSP

All these parts add up to £1053.70
Tell me if there is anything I could possibly change to make it better but it has to be under the budget of £1100.

You need a Z97 board.. the 81 is compatible but won't allow your card to reach its potential.
I'd save money by getting a GTX 970 isntead as the 980 has about 12% better performance for about 60% more money. You'll be fine running things on ultra with a 970.
Other than that, you'll be happy with your build, no doubt!

Edit: with the money you save getting a 970, buy an SSD.. then, your build will be really solid!

Cheers,
GG

This is a BEAST!

Cheap cooler, motherboard, power supply and case. I agree with GG, get a gtx 970. Unless you have a 4k monitor there's no need to get a 980.

Includes SSD + high quality mobo, power supply and case. Oh and 16gb of ram :)

+1; This build is definitely a beast for under 1000 quids!

Definitely try a PSU of a friends first, if possible. I've never heard of a PSU effecting performance. It's generally an all or nothing deal. Your system shuts down if the PSU can't keep up, or crashes to the desktop.

You really should run 3dmark just to see how you compare to similar systems. Your friends system is not giving typical results. The results are far higher than they would normally be, which is why I think (s)he has virtu MVP, which causes FPS meters to lie.
