Hi,
I have recently built a new pc using the m5a97 le r2.0 mobo. I have also purchased a razer tiamat 7.1, but my mobo doesn't have subwoofer, back, or side slots. This does not allow me to use the tiamat's 7.1 capability. I was wondering if there was a way to use the 7.1 without buying a new mobo altogether.
Thank you.

The front audio panel (or wherever they may be located on the computer case) jacks are the key. I've got a Tiamat 7.1 as well. I have to hook up 3 of the ports on the motherboard I/O panel connectors and then use short extension cables to run from the front panel audio jacks to the remaining headphone plugs.

When you plug in the cables to the front audio panel, a realtek pop-up should appear asking you to define what you just plugged in, so just select 7.1 audio from the realtek HD audio manager and then change the plug assignments to match the remaining headphone plugs.

@dwatterworth
you said that you plug in the 3 plugs in the back, but my mobo does not have those slots. The mobo I have only has an audio in, out and a mic in.
