If i run 4 passes of memtest86, while testing only one stick, and it returns no errors, can i confidently say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my memory stick? or is memtest86 not a 100% diagnostic tool, and there are some errors it can't detect? OR, if it's my ram slot that's bad (while my stick isn't), can memtest86 return errors cause of that? or will errors not show up due to damaged slots?

Solution
Errors should show up with a damaged slot, also with a damaged stick. I've read a lot of people say that you should test for like 10 passes, but realistically I think that's a bit overkill. 4 passes should tell you that you can look elsewhere for problems than that particular stick/slot. Memtest86 is good, but not perfect, so there's always the chance something could sneak by, heck, you could get an error from background radiation to get technical. It's not something you should spend too much time worrying about though.
