I want to mix two DDR3 RAM of different CAS latency.
The following are the CAS Latency of both,
*5-6-7-8-9-10-11*
*9-9-9*
Can i do it?

You can, that doesn't mean you should, or that it will work. If it does work, it will be running at the lowest common speed for the two sticks, possibly lower to get them to be without errors. It would be better for you to acquire a matched set of RAM that has been certified by the manufacturer to work with both sticks, they come in 2 stick sets for that very reason. Mixing RAM can work, but it is not guaranteed at all.

Can but you shouldn't. Beyond the timings most people see, there are other timings that will not match up. You can make the timings match and speed but you are going to run into stability issues.

That is why it is best to just buy a single kit that way they are factory tested and set to match.

The first one means cas latency 8 right and the second one means 9 right? And let me mention u the brand names, first one is of EVM 2GB DDR3 1333mhz and the second one is Apacer 2GB DDR3 1333mhz.Both with same voltage, size, pin, speed, etc. And yaa the first one has an adjustable CAS Latency

It's a risk. It could cause instability, showing in the form of the computer not booting up, freezes, blue screens, and crashes just to name a few. If no instability arises, then the RAM will work fine and consider yourself lucky.

The 1st number is the CAS.... so DDR3-2400 w/ 10-12-12-28 timings would be CAS 10

the 5-5-7-8 doesn't look real .... lowest CAS ya typically see for DDR3-1600 is CAS 7

You could have two sets w/ exact same speed and exact same timings and it might not work.... even from same manufacturer with same module OEM it might not work.

But you can try ....

1. Manually set the lower CAS settings pair to that of the higher set. IOW, if you have 7-8-8-24 and 9-9-9-24, change the CAS 7 to the CAS 9 settings.

2. If it proves unstable, try boosting DRAM voltage a bit. My approach is , if starting with 1.50 volts.... I'll go to 1.55 and if that's stable, start working me way back 1.54, 1.53 etc

3. Use Mtest86+ to test , feel comfortable it it runs overnight w/o errors.
