Hello,

Upon starting up my custom PC this morning, a few issues occurred.

After the first screen popped up followed by the windows logo, I got a flash of a blue screen for less then a second. I caught a picture of the blue screen which read "A problem has been deteced.... UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". It later moved to a black screen then I had the option to either boot normally or move to system repair. I selected boot normally and it just restarted my computer and brought me back to the same window where I then selected repair. The repair ran for ~20 minutes which came up with nothing being able to be fixed. I pressed finished and the computer shut down, when I turned it back on it boot normally and I am able to use the PC. I turned it off and waited a few hours and I was back at square one, a flash of a blue screen and the whole process repeated where I am able to use the PC again.

What causes this issue and how can I repair it? I am running Windows 7 64bit and I do have a Windows 7 repair disc, is there a way to fix it while I am on the computer?

Solution
Hi,
There is a way to solve this. Its often happens that the boot sector of the HDD goes corrupt.
You'll need your Windows 7 installation disc( Or on USB) to repair this.
Boot from the CD/USB and once you reach the installation page you'll see an option to repair windows.
In repair windows you'll see option to repair with command prompt(or probably in advanced troubleshooting)
Once in command prompt type the following
chkdsk /r
This may take a while and after its done type the following
fixboot
fixmbr
exit

Then reboot your system and check (Remove your USB/CD before you type exit)

** In my experience this resolved 90% of boot issues)

Alright.
Enter the BIOS
Enter the Boot section
Select your CD ROM Drive as first boot device
Press F10 and Enter

Your system will reboot and look out for "Press Any Key to Boot from CD". As soon as you see it Hit ENTER and continue as mentioned above.

Maybe. Depends and differes on the motherboard
Try Del
Try F1
Try F2
Try F10
in that order
Also on some mother boards you get a boot menu option where you can directly select the boot device
It can be
F2
F12
F11
F10
