I built this computer back in 2009 and had a friend help me overclock my CPU to 3.0Ghz (Intel 2.6GHz Core 2 Quad Q9400) and my RAM to 1600 or 1333 (honestly I can't remember). I know the RAM is supposed to be able to go to 1600.

I noticed sluggish performance and went into my bios to see it was all reset to Auto. Not sure what happened but need to update the DRAM timings to get performance back. I already changed FSB to 375 so my processor is back at 3.0Ghz, but I have no idea what I'm doing on the RAM. Can someone please help?? I do a lot of home video rendering and some gaming and it's killing me!

I've reviewed the guides and they've been extremely helpful. However, I'm still having issues when running the stress test on Prime95. One of the four CPUs will fail within the first minute of testing, while the other three continue to run just fine. I have a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 and it's currently overclocked to 2.8GHz and my RAM is set to 1600 with 7-7-7-24.

Any suggestions would be great!

Interesting! I formerly had the CPU OC'd to 3.2GHz (400 FSB) but still couldn't get the memory stable. Memtest86 was showing fine, but Prime95 would fail. The processor was chugging really well so I was starting to think it's my memory. I never tried to get past 3.2GHz. I bought a nice heatsink, fan and thermal compound. When OC'd to 3.2GHz and running Prime95 the core temps never got about 56 C, I was extremely happy with that.

I'll try these suggestions about increased voltages and see if I can get anywhere, but I'm starting to wonder if the memory just isn't the best. Debating if perhaps this G SKILL memory would be better served in my system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
