is it better to get an adapter or have it come with the mobo
I haven't used a LAn adapter of any kind in this millenium....much rather have on board than have to use a MoBo slot. I keep a USB one in the office in case something dies, but USB limits performance.... but after 14 years, the adapter is still in the box and still shrink wrapped. Then again, for reliability and performance, I'd would much rather run a cable than use WiFi.
As someone suggested, it would be cheaper to just buy a $10-20 WiFi USB stick to stick into your computer... or buy a wireless card if you want it to be internal.
The MSI or Gigabyte Gaming 5 boards have has every feature, comparable or better components,, they both significantly outperform the Hero in Gaming and are $80 cheaper.
The competition from Asrock, Gigbayte and MSI offerings in the link above cost $80 - $110 and all have WiFi.
USB tends to suffer from limited range and lag issues in AAA games with large data transfers
