Here's my build [PCPartPicker part list](http://pcpartpicker.com/p/T6NVTW) / [Price breakdown by merchant](http://pcpartpicker.com/p/T6NVTW/by_merchant/)

Will I be okay playing modern games? Any suggestions on what to do? I have a credit at GPU Shack

Well you got an awesome CPU which will easily accept any card you throw at it. Or cards I might add. Your current card will suffice if you are on a budget, however it will not go over 1080p resolution and still present acceptable frame rates.

Tell us what your budget is, and then we can suggest something. As I said though, your current card should be able to play any game on decent graphics - just not the highest resolution.

So my budget is $800, this is my first build and 1080p sounds good to me. But i'm handcuffed to GPUShack with this credit. I want to play games like call of duty, CS, Skyrim, i don't want limits basically haha. Also, I already have the team zues, windows, wifi adapter, and blue caviar HD on their way

I play all those games you've listed, and more, on high settings, and getting almost 60 FPS every game or more, with an AMD FX 6300(with a mild overclock from the 3.5 Ghz to 4Ghz) and same amount/speed of RAM you have with the Sapphire R9 280x(virtually the same card-but slightly faster at most) at 1080p resolution so you are OK with the Radeon 7970. Good gaming.

So would I be safe upgrading to an R9 280 or R9 280?
