Hi guys,
I'm stuck with this problem, can't find any solution on the net.
I got this card, I build the pc, everything seems fine except that I get error b2/62 without even getting to the bios if the graphic card, a gigabyte gtx 970, is connected.

If I remove the graphic card I can get to the bios without any problems.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

------SOLUTION------

Thanks to the help got here I found the problem, I'll repost the solution:

I used to put the hdmi cable in the motherboard, but the system would go looking for the hdmi in the graphic card when the graphic card was inserted.

So I moved the hdmi cable in the graphic card and I got to see the exact error from the graphic card: the graphic card wasn't connected correctly to the power supply. I wouldn't have ever guessed since the fans were working.
I had to change some cables, but in the end I got to the bios with the graphic card in.

Summary:
0. don't panic
1. Connect the hdmi cable to the graphic card
2. be sure the graphic card is powered correctly

sure its b2 and not 62 ?? I don't see B2 in the dr debug codes ??? I use asrock

its 62 and it will post that code when your in bios and should go away when the hard drive takes over to boot because it needs windows to load the chipset drivers and all that is normal with asrock

my manual did not have the codes in it but the downloadable manual will if that's the case

Hi junkeymonkey, to be honest I don't fully understand what you are saying.

Debug code on dr. debug looks like a b2, but it could be 62.

I think it is b2, even if it is not on the manual, because the number doesn't have a line on the top (I can't even make a photo now, sorry).

look 62 is Chipset initialization error that's when your in the bios and theres is no chipset drivers loaded, but when you boot windows it loads up the drivers that's been installed to windows and the code should go away..

sitting in the bios screen = no chipset drivers loaded = 62--- after/when windows loads = chipset drivers running and codes should go away

junkeymonkey sorry but I am ignorant, and I also explained myself really badly.

This is a brand new PC. Every piece is new, from the case to the hard drives.

I haven't installed windows yet, are you saying I should install windows and only after that putting in the GTX970?

Because if the graphic card isn't in I won't even get to the motherboard bios. If the graphic card is out I get to the bios and everything is recognized (the SSD, the storage HD, the cpu, the ram).

I pushed the button to reset the CMOS but nothing changed. The problem is still the same: graphic card is in I get 62(or b2), graphic card is out I get to the bios.

That said you all are being really helpful, I'm grateful. I'm gonna go to bed now because it's 3.25am where I live, but tomorrow I will read your suggestions and try. I will also leave a solution for those who will land the thread in the future, when we come up with one :)

one thing I wonder if the on board vga was used and the bios has a setting to change that from onboard to pcie slot will it auto detect that change or will you need to go back in to the bios on the onboard graphics then change that setting back to pcie slot graphics and save and reboot back to the card use ??

I never used the on board but it seems that by default the bios should post/display on what ever is hooked up . chipset drivers or not it should display ,but if you used the onboard first it may need that setting manually changed back ???

under Primary Graphics Adapter in the bios

one more thing I noticed is that if your board has a earlier bios then 1.30 [like first release ] and you got a refresh k chip this can cause this issue as well but you did say you can post bios with the intel onboard graphics , right ??

1.30 and 1.50 call out a v-bios update as well .. hmmmm

how are you posting here ?? cell phone ?? if from another computer or laptop get the bios download on a pendrive and flash the board on the intel graphics ??? if you can enter the bios on that you can flash - be sure to read the flash steps for pendrive flashing [dos] -

I just don't get how a vid card became not so plug and play anymore I guess it goes to show they control what hardware they feel you need to use as they see fit ???

http://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSUI.asp?cat=BIOS8

funny I see this with most brands and newer cards not just asrock and a lot of 900 cards as well as amd r cards

I'm thinking 2 things first is the bios set to onboard graphics when he used the intel graphics and needed to be reset back to pcie or he needs a newer bios that shows v-bios updates ??

as I say its sad times when a vid card aint so plug and play anymore jumping through hoops needing motherboard bios support for a card ??
just goes to show how they can control what parts they feel they want you to use on there boards

if they don't feel they want to have you run a gtx 900 or what ever on that board, well too bad no bios support for it from them then no new card card for you

hard to pay out for a part and think well I wonder if this board will support it or will I get any support for it .. its like compatibly takes a back seat or hay we got a ''better '' board that will support it so if you want to use that hardware then you need to buy this board to be able to use it cause that one we don't want it to or well its not our branded part or licensed to do so it won't work - I feel that's where it going to be soon

First of all, thank you all for your inputs because they helped me come up with the solution.

Now I'll describe the problem and the solution.
