Hi guys i want your help on this,i lately have lag on internet browisng and more often game crashes than ever.i managed to eliminate the lag but the crashes remained so i thought it was the cpu cooler who's not been cleaned for over 5 months i cleaned it opened the computer and what i see is idle temp at 60+ celsius degrees and cpu usage while gaming at 99% something not normal
my normal temp were 30 degrees on idle and max 50 at gamimg

What do you recommend me to do guys ?

PS i played gta sa and when i closed the game the temp was at 102 degrees LOL

If you used the same program to get the base temperatures, then how do you explain the same application giving much higher temps now?

Something changed - and like I said earlier the 2 most obvious things are heatsink and thermal compound. If I were you I would take the heat sink completely off, Clean off the old thermal paste and re-install the heatsink. Then look at the temperature again.

Download and use coretemp just to double check your temps, if they are still high, then you should then open up the laptop and clean the heatsink of dust, reapply thermal paste and brush up the fans as ss202sl recommends. Also have you changed how your playing your games now? Like are you placing the laptop on your blanket or something, covering up the exhaust vents?

OP stated that its a desktop. Anyway, try opening your side panel and playing a game. If the temps are lower, then you need better ventilation in the case. Another case fan, or cleaning blocked air filters in the case, will work wonders.

Don't worry, happens all the time :). I'm typing this on an i3 4130 at ~30% load (I have a game in the background). My ambient (room temp.) temp. is hight cause I live in Sri Lanka, and I'm only on the stocl cooler still, but yet my CPU temp. is around 50C

Also, this: http://www.buildcomputers.net/cpu-temperature.html states that 65C is the max temp for your CPU, so definitely not normal. Since you hit 102C playing a simple (ie not demanding) game, I think I may as well tell you that Intel CPUs start throttling back (ie automatically slow down to protect themselves) at aroung 95-100C
