Hi

I'm in the process of changing my 2 x 27" Iiyama 1080 monitors for 3 x 2560 x 1440 Dell monitors. At the moment I have a Dell UltraSharp U2713HM and am thinking of getting either two more of these, or the Dell Ultrasharp 2713H, either maybe one or two not sure yet. Either way it will be 3 27" Dell monitors unless an Asus would fit in?

I would like to know what graphics card or cards I will need to run these 3 monitors?

Also would I need to change any of my other components to future proof this set up?

I use my computer mostly for Windows and Family Tree Maker but want to use for Photoshop and maybe play the odd game.

My setup at the moment:

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 4GB)
Hard Drives: Corsair 60GB Force3 SSD S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s, OCZ Agility 3 120gb SSD SATA III, Seagate Barracuda 3TB,
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB + another of the same if needed
Power Supply: Corsair TX750
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Case: Zalman Z9 Plus

Thanking you in advance from the UK!

That's a good powerful system going forwards, so you don't really need to worry about future proofing. I might suggest more RAM, but that's not urgent by any means.

As for a graphics card - The thing to worry about isn't really driving the monitors when you are doing desktop stuff. Any graphics card with enough ports will happily run those monitors at those resolutions. The question is really what other more demanding things are you going to with your system? For example, do you want to run games at those resolutions across multiple screens? If so, you'll need something really quite powerful, but if not (say you are happy running on a single monitor for games) then you can go with something more middle of the road.

Great thank you.

I won't be a serious gamer that's for sure not enough time ha ha! I would be happy to play the odd game on a single monitor. I really want the 3 monitors for my family tree work and to start using photoshop.
