So I am planning on upgrading my current (budget) gaming pc. I'm not sure which parts should be upgraded, or which ones will be fine for my upgrade, so I'm here to ask you for help.

Current pc components:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 (will be i5-4690, unless you recommend something better for the same price/cheaper)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD7850 (will be MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G)
PSU: Cooler Master GX 550W (In another thread I read somewhere that 500W would be sufficient for a 970, so I guess 550W will do the job?)
MOBO: ASUS M5A78L LE (!!!)
RAM: CORSAIR 8GB DDR3 (Model CMV8GX3M1A1333C9)
HDD: 1TB HDD

* About the motherboard: I'm not familiar with the importance of a motherboard, besides it being able to have the right inputs and outputs. This is just a cheap motherboard I bought for my first build.
Can someone recommend me a motherboard and explain why I would need that one? I just want it to get the job done, not keeping my new PC from performing at their best. So preferably a "cheap" one you could think of which would fit my build well.

NOTE: I am, and will be running games on 1920x1080.

Tips and/or advice is always welcome!

(sorry for my English)
Thanks in advance!

(EDIT: I don't want to spend too much money, I still have a budget but I know some things are neccesary)

I am not that familiar with the motherboard. If you are going to overclock, I suggest reading about...
Your CPU will be fine for the moment. The most important thing to upgrade now for vastly better gaming performance is your GPU and PSU.

Tell me your budget. A 970 will be around 300 dollars. A good PSU will be around 60-70 dollars. Your budget should be around 400 dollars for an extremely good upgrade.

Thank you so much! Are you sure there will be no bottlenecking between FX-6300 and GTX970 (for gaming)

I already included the cost for a 970, so the budget starts after that. The 60-70$ PSU will be no problem.
Also what do you think about my motherboard? I've seen many people with motherboards twice as expensive.

Also my budget kinda depends on how important an upgrade is. If there's something I really need, or something you recommend, just tell me and I will see if I can get it :)

I am not that familiar with the motherboard. If you are going to overclock, I suggest reading about that motherboards overclocking capabilities. If you are not going to overclock, it should be fine.

No, your CPU will not bottleneck the 970. However, after you have upgraded your PSU and GPU, the next upgrade somewhere in the future, should be your CPU. As of now, it is not needed though.
