How To: Get best performance from my AMD A10 5800K CPU

Here is what i am running.

MSI A78M-E45 A78 chipset
AMD A10-5800K
Power Color Radeon 6770 1GB GDRR5
Ram- 2x4GB 1600
500GB SATA hard drive

Windows 7 pro

Use: HD internet TV, Light Gaming for now.. And most of all as a learning device, i am very interested in Computers and i am constantly reading articles teaching myself more about them. I am moving next week and have already contacted a non profit computer refurbishing store about volunteering so i can take on more knowledge and find out if building and repair of computer systems is something i could take on as a career and go to school for. Thanks everyone for your help here!

More about performance amd a10 5800k cpu
  1. overclocking. since you processor is a K sku, it is overclockable, so you can get a cheap air cooler (like the CM hyper 212 evo) and get that CPU to around 4.2-4.4GHz or higher.
  2. First, you could overclock the CPU using a good coolers, like the 212 Evo. However, since you have a budget motherboard rather than a solid one with good VRMs and mosfets, I would advise you to not overclock over 4.3 GHZ. Otherwise, it should be quite good.

if you have checked the actual motherboard, you can see that it actually has solid VRM cooling, so it doesn't matter to what level he overclocks.
  4. Exchange your RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)- Timing 9-11-10-28 - Cas Latency 9.
Crossfire with Power Color Radeon 6770 1GB GDRR5.

  6. Sorry davidaroo. I searched the wrong motherboard though. Guys: he has a dedicated GPU, what is the use of having higher frequency RAM? Just get another GPU and OC the hell out of it.
