I installed a new processor into my computer yesterday (went from AMD Phenom XII 805 to AMD 1090T). But ever since I installed the new CPU, my computer won't turn off. The monitor's signal cuts off and shuts down, my mouse turns off too (like how they both should), but the fans in my computer are still running indicating my tower is still fully on. It's like my computer is in sleep mode but won't wake up when I press buttons on my keyboard or mouse. I have to hold down the power button to do an emergency shut down to fully power down my machine. Any ideas as to what could have happened?

MOBO: MSI-790FX-GD70
Old CPU: AMD Phenom XII 805
New CPU: AMD 1090T

1.Unfortunately I'm not tech savvy enough to know what to do with the BIOS. I wouldn't even know where to start with that.
2. There is no error message upon shutting down. It looks like the computer boots down perfectly normal except the tower keeps running while the monitor and mouse are off.
3. The graphics card is securely connected to the motherboard.
