I'll try to be very detailed on this
like the title says, This happened before on my other system unit. Okay.. what I did in attempt to fix it way back..
I tried replacing the thermal paste, re-seat the card, tried different power supply, tried cleaning the drivers out, scanned the computer for viruses using malwarebytes and avast.
But that didn't not solve the problem, Until I formatted my Hard Drives which is the last resort I can think of and That solved the problem..
and It's happening again on my GTX 960 Asus Strix version.
it's idleling @ 59c randomly even if there is no intense graphics or 3D activity in the background (or there is, something is using my gpu and forcing it to run at almost full load).
My max temps are still pretty much the same ( 65c - 68c)
Okay, this is actually my fault, since I downloaded and installed a not so trustworthy software.
is there any other way to remove the virus that causes it? I can't seem to trace or find it.
and everyone knows how much a pain formatting your drive is
also, I saw this thread way back 2012 and he/she had the same problem and was Able to fix it.
