Please help: Any way to convert an INTERNAL SOUND CARD into an EXTERNAL SOUND CARD?

I ask this because I currently have a USB audigy nx soundcard connected to my laptop. This allows me to use a 7.1 surround speaker setup. It's perfect, except for the fact that LINE-IN only outputs through front two speakers only. This for me is a waste of the remaining five speakers that the setup comes with. I have tried all the upmixing methods (i.e., CMSS, stereo surround, etc.) but none works.

However, my old internal Creative Audigy 2 ZS soundcard DEFINITELY has the capability to output LINE-IN from ALL the speakers rather than the front two.

So I feel like the only way I can get my dream setup is to find some unconventional or conventional way to use my INTERNAL PCI soundcard as my laptop's external soundcard.

Please tell me this is possible? There has got to be some sort of a PCI to USB something or other?

I will get that in a heart beat. Does it:

1) Have a similar feature to creative's stereo surround or CMSS? something that detects if the source is stereo or surround and either give out a 'virtual' surround or proper 7.1 surround experience, respectively.

2) Outputs line-in through all 7 speakers.

Thank you!
