New Office/Light Gaming PC won't even power on. What's the problem?

Since yesterday for about 3-7 long, excruciating hours, I have tried everything. From disconnecting and reconnecting the power connectors onto the motherboard to re-installing the motherboard to other cases to re-working the front panel button connectors in different positions and all that. I even bought a new PSU (An Antec VP450 power supply) and nothing worked.

Yes. I've used the golden standoffs when I've installed the motherboard onto the case. I've also installed the CPU correctly. I recall having a tough time with the EVGA's 24-pin connector onto the MB, thinking that it was still loose even after applying all the necessary force. Either that might have ruined the board somehow or the board might have been DOA regardless.
