Ok, so I just got this Supermicro 2U x6dat-g server from a buddy of mine that came with windows server 2003 installed with 3 seagate 160gb hard drives. It boots to windows server 2003 but i cant access it because of an old user name and password i dont have. I have a copy of windows server 2008 I want to install on it but when i go to install it it says it doesnt have any hard drives in the system at all. But there are 3 160gb sata drives and one 500 gig installed in the system and it can boot to the windows server 2003 already installed. I dont have much experience with servers this is my new toy and I cant figure out what is causing the windows installation to not see any drives at all but it can boot to windows.....any ideas? thanks!

Nothing, still doesn't see any drives. But my windows 7 computer sees them. The motherboard uses Phoenix bios and Ive looked through the settings but I cant seem to see what I'm missing.

ok, now that did help to a degree, and now i have the drive formatted and cleaned but when it begins to install it comes up saying something close to unable to verify the file structure and takes me back to begin installation. The drive is formatted through windows installation.

I finally got it working. I ended up having to put the sata drivers on a floppy disk Disabling usb, And used a new copy of my software. I had my key but had to torrent my copy of software because I misplaced disk but ended up finding it And using my real copy. Got it installed and currently updating
