the only problem that i have is that i need the smallest possible psu :/

Why are you trying to use a separate power supply for your video card instead of a full one?
Or are you trying to force a GTX-970 into a small form factor PC and have a puny 250w psu in the case.

By the way, you cant just hook a different psu up and it work, you need the motherboard or other device to signal the power supply to turn on.

For the $60 price tag of that PSU you can get much better that will support all of your system.

Frankly I would take that PSU over a corsair CX series as the CX series have poor capacitors.

Big gpu power takes good power supplies.

The max you could use on a power supply like that is a gtx 750 ti.

yup i am planning of doing something like you said above, so thats the slimest power supply i can find , do u have any suggestions for a slim power supply (about 5cm in height) that fits the needs for the 970 alone?
