I want to overclock my AMD FX-4300

hi i want to overclock my FX-4300 so i want to ask can i safely overclock it From 3.8Ghz factory clock to 4Ghz with the stock cooler

motherboard-Gigabyte GA-78LMT USB-3.0

No. Do not every overclock ANY CPU with the stock cooler. Especially on an older chipset like that without great VRM heatsinks and only a 4+1 power phase. Even a 4 core chip like the 4300 still needs a better cooler. Granted, 3.8Ghz to 4Ghz isn't much, in fact it's the same as the Turbo core max speed, so overclocking to 4Ghz unless you turn the power profile to 100% minimum in the control panel profile, turn off turbo core in the bios and disable cool n quiet in the bios, there's not much sense in even overclocking it.

Well Thanks only a mild overclock won't perform as good so i'm gonna let it at 3.8 Ghz and when i will have a better cooler i will overclock it

That's a good idea. This would be a good choice of cooler, which performs better than the 212 EVO but lacks the issues with the mounting system:

Either of those will do fine for over clocking a 4300 to around the 4.5ghz mark (the Aidos is substantially better)

Likewise the board while 4 phase has very good quality components - won't hold you back at all.
