First check start menu > startup, if it is there remove the shortcut. If not you need to run regedit.exe, check these places if the program is listed there:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
If that program is listed on one of these location you need to remove that SPECIFIC line from the registry (on rightside windows of refedit righclick on the line and click delete). Be carefull when modifying registry or you can damage your operating system installation.
o.o That will prevent it from popping up during start up? Just saying, I don't want to delete it, I just want it to not pop up during start up. I have a feeling its something simpler, and not requiring the need to edit the registry o.o
Those two places in registry contain the programs that startup when you log into Windows, you can check from the program settings if there is a option to disable running it during startup (but it does basicly the same thing).
Does disabling the program during startup effect boot time? I'm assuming it only effects sleep mode. Do i have to manually open the program in order to take advantage of it when i use sleep mode?
The less programs there are to load during bootup the faster it should boot. You need to manually start a program when you need it if you disable it from running at startup. Here's the FAQ for Asus Instant On (http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1009700).
Edit. It seems to add some added functionality over the default sleep mode(s) so it might usefull to just leave it as it is if it is causing no problems.
