Hi there. First build here and I'm looking at the connectors from the case to the motherboard. Connectors for the power button and reset button are two pin. My motherboard has a pin labeled power button and then a pin labeled ground. The connector has a little arrow on one side. Does the arrow mean that that side should be connected power button pin and the side without the arrow should go to the ground?

You should consult the mainboard and case manuals first.

But, the arrow shows the + side of the connector. The coloured wire also is the positive (and the white is the negative). But always consult the case manual.

If they are not connected properly, no harm should be done to the mainboard, but the system might not behave correctly.
