Well, my processor is non-overclocking and it is i7-4790. I just want to change my intel stock cooler and intend to have a nice Air cooler. Before seeking for the suggestion, I want to know about some issues.

1. Though I am not going to overclock my CPU, would the high quality overclocking Air coolers (like- Cooler Master V8 GTS/ Thermaltake Frio OCK/ Thermaltake Frio Extreme) be a good choice? Will they offer any mentionable advantage over my CPU? Like- Reliability / Long Lasting/ Controlling CPU Temp considerably better than others etc etc.

2. If yes, then help me out to choose between "Cooler Master V8 GTS" , "Thermaltake Frio OCK" and "Thermaltake Frio Extreme" (I don't want to loose any Ram Slot since I am using high profile Ram G.Skill RIpjaws Trident X)

3. If the high quality CPU Coolers don't have any great impact over non-overclocking CPU then what about "Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim" ?

Most importantly if you have any good Air Cooler in your mind for my CPU, then please suggest me.

For the help of your suggestion:- My CPU socket is LGA 1150.

Thanks in advance :)

The 212 Evo is a good choice, but it's very bulky and definitely overkill for a non-overclocked CPU. Personally, I recommend something like the Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 Pro, a super cheap cooler that is completely silent in my PC right now. Even at full pelt it's almost inaudible, and it has slightly better cooling than the Intel stock cooler.

I would definitely recommend it - for £7 it's an absolute steal.

Thing is, 212 EVO and Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 Pro both are unavailable here :(

Available coolers here are- Cooler Master Hyper 212X, Hyper TX3 Evo, SpinQ VT CPU cooler180 mm Fan Cu & AL, Cooler master Hyper 412 Slim, Cooler master V8 GTS, Thermaltake Frio Advanced, Thermaltake Frio OCK, Thermaltake NIC C5 Untouchable, Thermaltake Frio Extreme etc and more higher. What would be better among them? (Again for reminding, I don't want to loose any Ram slot)

One more thing- Are there any disadvantages if a cooler becomes overkill for my non-overclocked CPU? Like- if I go for a high end Air Cooler then, is there any possibility that it may harm my CPU stuffs ?

Thanks

No, but it's a waste of money, takes up a lot of space in your build, and in my opinion, can ruin the clean aesthetics of a down draft cooler.

If you only have a few options, I recommend just staying with the stock cooler.
