Adding RAM, compatibility question

Hey guys,

So lately my computer has been a bit memory hungry. Currently have 2 4GB RAM sticks in there: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056VO2HK?psc=1

Looking to double up my RAM and buy one of these 8 GB sticks. Still have 2 slots in my MOBO for some more RAM: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-1600MHz-Desktop-CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10B/dp/B009M0TCBC/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1430086541&sr=1-9&keywords=Corsair+Vengeance+8GB

I shouldn't have any compatibility issues, right? Just checking before I buy.

Read your motherboard manual,it will be written clearly what RAM's are compatible. See how much RAM is supported per slot and the Max Ram[total] supported by the motherboard.

Need the link of the motherboard for further help.

P.S if you are going to add an 8gb Ram put it in the 1st slot, then shift the 2*4gb rams to the second slot and the 4th slot, skip the 3rd slot or they won't work. ;)

Thanks for that second piece of advice.

Gotta go find my manual. In the event it only goes to 4GB max, and I decide to buy some more 4GB sticks, can I go into the third slot or still no good?

Your motherboard supports a max of 32GB RAM. I looked on it's Memory supported list and i guess it doesn't support 8gigs of ram in one slot but confirm it with the manual BUT it probably supports 8gb as you can't make 32gb with 4*4gb ram's.

And yes, you can buy two more 4gb ram and use the third slot but you should probably buy 8GB stick so you can add another 8gb stick if you need more RAM in the future.

Buy the RAM's of the same frequency, you already have 1866MHZ memory, so buy more ram of the same frequency.
