need help on my upgrade I don't know if my 970a-g46 can handle a 125w cpu (8350) with no oc or bios flash the mobo is less then a year old and I know that it has bad vrams .
I have a fx6300 now 8 gig ram and a 290x. so I found a I 7 2700k and a ASRock LGA1155 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 Quad CrossFireX . I don't know if I should get the Intel or get a amd I would like to find a board and a i5 for 200 or so ....help lol

Solution
If you play modern games that are well threaded you will be fine with an FX 8350.

Just put it on a good board. That small form factor 970A-G46 doesn't have a strong enough voltage regulator to support an 8 core FX CPU. You'll need a full ATX size 970 board.

The Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P is on sale right now on NewEgg

You could get that board + an FX 8320 for $210 or so. An 8350 would be $30 more. That board is a solid overclocker, got my FX 6350 to 4.950GHz stable with that motherboard and water cooling.

Other good options are:

ASRock 970 Performance
MSI 970 Gaming

hm, it's quite hard to answer by not knowing your you want less budget by keeping mobo or buying cpu-mobo instead.

for your mobo compatibility, you should read this http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/330572-30-970a-warning

considering compatibility issue, i recommend you to buy a new mobo-cpu set, since you might unable to upgrade your cpu (fx6300 to fx8350). For this option, i suggest picking an intel - has better single core performance, lower tdp and thermal output, and ofc if you prefer K series, you'll obviously get a good overclocking potential.
Pick an i5-4670k and a descent sub$200 mobo instead of i7-2700k which has older SB architecture. Both has overclock capability, as you can see. i5 also has lower price of $239.9 compared to i7-2700k ($349.9)
If you're not in a tight budget, you can always get i7-4970k or other i7s to get better performance. [source : newegg]

LGA1150 mobo for $200 options :
ASUS Maximus VII Hero http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132125 ($208)
ASRock Z97 Extreme6 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157500 ($164)
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 7 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128708 ($174)
MSI Z97 GAMING 7 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130768 ($169)
ASUS Z97I-PLUS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132122 ($153) -mini-itx low price option-

hope it helps.
