I have a R9 280x and Direct x11 installed along with beta drivers 13.4

Final Fantasy 14 has a 2.0 benchmark that i can easily score 11k (extremely high) on maximum settings

They just released a new bench for my game based on the up coming expansion that enables d11

I scored a 6500 on the same settings. Could i need to upgrade my drivers?

Full System:
FX8320e
8gb ram
250gb SSD
r9 280x

You said you have DX11 but this new update enables DX11. Do you mean DX12? If so, DX12 is an upcoming feature for Windows 10 that is both software and hardware dependent. I recently sold my R9 280x, but it will support the majority of DX12 features when they arrive alongside Windows 10. The R9 280x only has up to DX11.2 support, but Microsoft has confirmed that even older cards will benefit from most features in DX12, though some will be limited to newer cards with out of the box DX12 support (such as my GTX 970 or upcoming R9 300 series cards). Also, driver updates will be necessary as with any change,in software.
If you really meant it is still DX11, then yes, a driver update may get your benchmark scores back to where they were.
Hope this helped!

Ah, that makes sense now. Yes a driver update may be necessary to experience all the benefits. However, I wouldn't worry too much about the reduction in benchmark scores as they are often inaccurate measures of actual gameplay, even the built-in benchmarks that give scores rather than FPS averages. DX11 also uses different execution methods that may make certain benchmarks appear worse when in fact the gameplay has improved. Just make sure you're getting good FPS in-game and the efficiency benefits of DX11 will be apparent.

thanks! i am just perplexed as to why it dropped so much. Yes, the d11 update to the game makes it look a lot nicer, but a 4k hit seems like a lot.

Another guy with a 8350 and a 7970 shored 10,900. Gotta be the drivers
