Hi, and thank-you for taking the time to preview my question.
I have not worked the hardware side of computers for a very long time, so my apologies if some of my terminology is off.
My question is:
I am scheduled to put a sound card in my father's computer. He currently has on-board sound, which is integrated in his motherboard. Once I pop the card in, is there anything else that I'll need to do other than booting and possibly loading the drivers? In-other-words, is there anything that I need to do so his system will use the card, rather than his on-board sound? IE: Do I need to make any adjustments in the BIOS or anything else?
TIA

PS -He is running WinXP HOME SP3 if that matters.
