R9 280X or 290X for 1080p 60Hz Monitor?

290x is still too expensive and the 280x just falls short of holding 60fps in all games, it does get close though.
A good friend of mine has the 290x and he plays @ 1080P and in 3d at times, he has not had a complaint... that is for sure.

I just got the XFX Double D R9 280A for $149.99. It's a steal. It also has a LIFETIME warranty.
It's just a temporary card because I'm going to get the Predator 34", X35 or Asus ROG Swift, 27" 4K 60Hz G-Sync monitor. So I'm going to build a total new system when the GTX 980 TI comes out or AMD R9 395X2 or 390.

I own the radeon 7950 which is the same as the r9 280. It's damn good. I can max out bf3 on ultra and maintain above 60fps. Not including MSAA unless that is included in the bf3 ultra preset(I forget)
It eats up 1080p, only reason I plan to upgrade is for VR.
