Hey there everyone, I have a G3258, a dual core, overclocked pretty well. And i have 4 gigs of Ram, also a Radeon HD 7950. I was wondering are these good upgrades for my PC? Because on certain games like GTA 5, i can't multitask at all considering my CPU is always at 100% on that game, and some other games, everything goes slowly when i try to do things on my second monitor. My GPU is about the same as an R9 280, has 3 gigs of Vram. I have a 500 wat psu.

Good upgrades? I also have a coolermaster hyper 212 Evo, so i could enable turbo boost if i wanted.

Since you already have a stick of RAM, find a matching stick and throw it in there. 8GB will be enough for some time to come, then you can buy an i5 4690k as suggested above. Overclocking or not is up to you, if not then get something like the i5 4460 and save some cash for later upgrades.

TB is not overclocking. TB is enabled by default in (most) motherboard's BIOS and raises frequency to some extent when CPU is loaded (and extra-power is needed) while staying in safe margins of voltage/power, that is, when it's safe to do.

OC is basically going beyond this but it requires different motherboard from the one that you have and decent cooling.

My i5-4690 3.5 GHz processor , for example, runs on 800 MHz on idle, kicks in TB (3.9 GHz) when loaded with synthetic tests with all cores 100% loaded. Between this it operates on the frequency currently needed.
