I've Got a R9 280 Currently and plan to crossfire in the future since i'm vested in my current card not planning getting rid of it. This is paired with a phenom 965 @ 3.4Ghz since Mobo Cant hold a oc. Anyways i'm upgrading to a crossfire platform needing to know which CPU YOU GUYS Recommend FOR a R9 280 Crossfire Config????? please hELP!

If all you're doing is gaming, the 4690K is better http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2014/07/03/intel-core-i5-4690k-review/5

the 8350 would would be fairly close if you overclocked it though.

I've got a 4770K paired with 290Xs in crossfire and don't have any problems; I don't think either of those processors you are looking at will bottleneck you. If you need to save some money the 8350 is a viable option. Obviously some games like Skyrim like the 4690K a lot better due to stronger single thread performance.

Ok Thanks guys money is of the essence. I'm wanting to setup for that second video card in the future so if you guys think the 8350 will be future proof i'll get it. But idk Intel is so high right now 240$ on the just processor? I mean it's up the air I want AMD but afraid i'll buy on the tail end again like i did the 965 and everything advanced right after. I was behind from the get now with all newer games it's seems impossible to stay ahead of the game. Anyways words of wisdom are needed thanks!

I'm down to 300 bucks for CPU Mobo combo. I would hate to buy a worse performing intel over that 8 core AMD but at least there's room to upgrade in future idk guys what do you think? Another question How is Intel beating AMD in games what is it that makes it better i'm confused. I think developers use Intel? Idk I mean it's clear cut Intel wins out but how??? there's more to it than cores?

Because Intel has stonger performance per core, it's explained pretty well here: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1986387/intel-amd-gaming.html.

If you're strapped for cash, the 8350 should be fine, I've got a buddy who uses one with SLI 970s and has no complaints in gaming.

That sounds about right. I guess i have to go with AMD then 8350 it is. The way i see it the PS4 and XBOX-ONE are using AMD and if it's good for those top notch systems it should fair better than this 965 phenom that's on it's way out(well been out whatever). Intel is just to high for what i'm trying to get out of it. ANY Xfire mobo recommendations for am3+ socket

The consoles are different and custom made, with 8 GB VRAM and so on, the processor isn't really worth mentioining however it gets 60 FPS in a lot of titles which is impressive even though majority of console gamers never cared about FPS anyways unless their game was moving like a slideshow. It's preference and if you don't need to play at the highest resolution you could compromise and lower the resolution and sit a foot further back and you won't be able to tell the difference between the two, not to mention lowering graphics settings.

The 8350 is a very solid CPU and is often compared to the i7 4770 in workstation benchmarks which is impressive but it's single core performance isn't the highest, however you'll have no complaints, and since you're on a tight budget it makes a lot of sense. However, if you won't edit videos, or heavily multitask then a locked i5 may be more suited for your needs.

OK that sounds good is the architecture on the FX series CPU's improved over the Phenom II's because the 965 isn't very good at frames it kinda sucks. In other areas it's fine but gaming it lacks and that is what i'm trying to improve.

Piledriver really is not that much of an ipc improvement over the phenoms, you will suffer the same issues with an fx as with your current cpu, though not as bad, but still bad compared to intel as most games are single threaded.

With the 8320 and a new mobo you will be overclocking anyways, not overclocking is a waste of money. If you do not want to OC intel is really the only option.

I've decided on an AMD 8350 with ASUS 990FX saber-tooth motherboard. Will be Xfiring 2 R9 280 Sapphires In near future after motherboard/CPU Upgrade. Any advice on choices and I'm ruling Intel out guys i'm very sorry after lots of thought i believe them to be over-hyped. I know Trolls have at it. It's OK i understand but if i'm getting my moneys worth that's all i care about. Intel lower your prices( True Capitalist).

That sounds like a beast PC man. You will be rocking those high graphic settings with that build. As for Intel, Intel will just usually give you better performance over AMD. AMD is not bad at all. That AMD 8350 chip is a beast CPU and if you can OC it, it should last a pretty long time.
