Hi all,

So I essentially rebuilt my working PC that has been going fine for years. I wanted to upgrade my stock CPU so I bought a new one and had to rebuild.

I removed all components and removed the mother board. I installed the new bracketing underneath the mother board and installed the new heat sink in fan. Then I reconnected all of the mini pins for USB, audio, etc. After that the SATA cables, graphics power cables, and so on.

I also connected the power in to the mother board as well as the CPU power cable (the big PCIE and the 8 pin PCIE cable.)

I aligned the motherboard back to the grounding posts, but I was missing a few screws. I was missing some before as well - but it was never a problem. Could the re - install have fried the motherboard?

I'm not sure I installed the little tiny pins that go along with the USB pins, etc. I'll throw up a pic if you like, but I want to ask the community if I'm missing anything basic...

Thanks!

OP, have you applied thermal paste? Have you connected the CPU fan in it's place? (you'd be surprised by how many people forget to do that).
Also, what is your entire PC specs? Because your PSU could of been hitting a plateau, and now that you have installed an aftermarket cooler your PSU cannot support the additional wattage output.
