I HAVE ACCIDENTALLY MARKED THE THREAD AS SOLVE WHEN IT WASN'T PLEASE DON'T LEAVE AND HELP ME. I MISS CLICKED SORRY AND NOT SURE HOW TO RETURN IT TO ORIGINAL STATE.

I have just build a new rig for myself and everything was going smoothly until ran into 2 issues.

1st and smaller one being that my Benq GW2765HT monitor when powered down by a power button on the monitor stops recognizing the Digital Port and says "No Signal Detected" until I either disconnect and reconnect the Digital Port Cable from and to my GPU. OR unless I hard reboot my system.

My 2nd and much larger problem is the fact that no matter what I try I cant seem to get my rig to play any games in SLI. When SLI is disabled it runs everything nice and smooth but as soon as you enable SLI it all goes downhill. What happens exactly is you first see a quick glimpse (if even that most of the time) of the start-up of the game I'm trying to play then the screen just goes pitch black and I can only hear sound of the game. The keyboard as well as the whole system becomes unresponsive, none of the keys or shortcuts work (Ctrl+Alt+Del/Cnrl+Shift+Esc/Windows key) etc. At this point the only thing to do is to press and hold the power button on the case and force shutdown.

Also as a side note before the first crash happened the screen was flashing extremely fast and lots of it for liek a good 30 seconds and then just died. Now I can't even get that at the start boot of the games. The games I tested this on is League of Legends, BF4, BF3, Diablo 3, CS:GO, and Heartstone. All of the games yielded the same result: Single car performed well and ran no problem, which in SLI configuration the game quickly flashed and then crashed to a black screen with the game music still playing.

I'm not sure what is causing the issue as the games run fine with a single GTX 970. I have already tried getting both the new nvidia drivers and the older ones by doing the safe boot driver sweeper uninstall and then install but been having 0/zip/nada/no luck at all. The SLI bridge seems to be working fine as when I take it of the option for SLI becomes grayed out. I'm literally pulling on staws now and a bit panicking since I have no idea what to do know. So if you can please please please help me.

My build is the following: Keep in mind I just build it few days a go so I have not overclocked anything at all so far.

CPU: 4670k
GPU: 2x MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G (SLI)
Mobo: Asus Z97-A
RAM: 16Gb Ripjaws 2133 Cas9 1.6V
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO
PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750 80+ Gold
Case: Corsair 300R
Monitor: BenQ GW2765HT 27'' 2560x1440 (connected via display port which arrears to be having his own issues)

Please help me, I literally don't know what else to do. I din't build a SLI rig just to not have SLI work.

Feel free to ask for any additional information. Thank you.

EDIT: I have just checked the event viewer for errors during crashes and noticed this one (There are 3 other repetitive ones as well):

Solution
Alright problem has been solved. Turned out my SLI connector to short and shorting itself out. That is why when I went tested with another connector it did not work. I had to go and purchase a 120mm one which was less rigid and thus it worked as it was able to transfer the connection between the two GPUs. I thank you all for the help as with out you guys I would not have been able to dig as far as this, in fact if wasn't for buying 3 different length and type of SLI connectors it would have been impossible to solve this problem. and you guys recommendations helped me just by mere luck to get the right length. So remember it always better to have a longer SLI connector than a short one if you are going to use heavy power GPU's. Thank you...

Have you tried each GTX 970 individually?

Like disconnect each one move into the first PCI-e slot and turn it on?

Yes.

Yes Just tested both cards alone in the case and they turn on and run any game amazingly. But not in SLI formation. Also the Digital Port monitor on/off issue is still present so im guess that will get fixed in drivers later down the road. But SLI still doesn't work, but each of the cards individually do each of the cards do.

What else would you recommend?

Where would even be the nearest place to buy a SLI Bridge.. frys 2 hours away maybe...but that would be last resort I think since my current mobo and SLI Bridge are brand new.

You can order them online amazon/evga/nvidia all have them.

I know you said you tried different drivers; can you list which ones exactly, and which ones you are on now?

Sure, Current is 350.12

Atempted: 344.60, 344.80 (this one helps the GTX 970 recognize the Display Port but not completely fix the issue), 344.16, 347.88, 344.75, 344.11, and 347.88

ALSO I accidentally marker your answer as solved when I'm no where near that point. How do I unmark it? Because this has not been solved at all.

There should be an uselect button. Are you using any overclocking software (even if you're not overclocking) like EVGA Precision X or MSI afterburner?

No I have uninstaller it before I started trouble shooting to limit any potential problems.

Are you using the windows performance power plan and prefer maximum performance in your nvidia control panel global settings?

Windows performance mode, and its set on auto.

Hmm, I have both on performance.
At this point I would think A) something from the drivers, possibly something left over from previous driver install/uninstall B) a power issue which crashes when you enable SLI due to increased power draw.

Yeah, I crash on both on performance as well. ='(
I do clean install drivers every time with the use of the drive cleaner/sweeper (DDU). Any idea how or what could possibly be wrong with the PSU?

I'm not a PSU expert, I do know that I had a Corsair HX850 that I had blew out when I did a tiny over-volt on an MSI GTX 780 though. Only way to really check is to snap another PSU in there.

Alright so if I put another PSU in there and the same issue still exists where would I go from there? Because I can go to fry's tomorrow If lucky maybe later today and just pick up a 850-900W one as well as a SLI Bridge to see if mine were faulty. What do I do though if that doesn't fix the issue though?

Before spending money I would try formatting and re-installing windows and installing the driver that came with your cards only and trying it.

Well I can always return the PSU and the SLI bridge. I can't really do that since I dont have a DVD/CD drive on my rig. Also if formatting do you mean make a new USB Win 8 Boot Stick? I installed my windows of a USB stick and then used a Win 8 activation key I bought of reddit then free upgraded to Win 8.1. I'm afraid that key might not work again since it has already been used.

Not sure on that, I always buy my Windows from Amazon or Newegg. But if you can return the PSU and SLI bridge for sure then it's worth a shot anyway.

Oh yeah that's why I'm not sure about the installer since I used the code already. Hmm But yeah so if the PSU and the SLI Bridge doesn't fix the issue is the only othre alternative the full OS reinstal?

There is the possibility that corrupted windows files may have something to do with this and that some corrupted piece of nvidia driver may still be hanging around.
