Hi, guy's.
I have a HP compaq p4 upgraded 2gb ram geforce fx card with xp pro sp3 installed with oem cd and original key, with admin password.
Problem is having install errors trying to reinstall both fresh and upgrade as per instructions tried update first finished installing then stuck at final splash screen left overnight no go. Next day tried fresh install exactly same issue stuck on final splash screen after installation.
Just to back track a little reason for trying to reinstall computer all of a sudden crashed and now wont install anything with error you are in safe mode and so on. followed microsofts advice reinstall msiexec.exe and register it and so on. tried manually and automatically updating it no go.
Can anyone tell me how to fix the thing as i really need it to run a cnc machine that will only work with xp. tried with win7 computer and crashes does silly things so again no go.
So with that ive tried and spent three days trying to fix and end up at same point.
tried system restore tried manually doing suggestions from microsoft to register msiexec.
Im at a loss i even tried install on new hard drive but its to small to use but installation completed which means the cd is fine.
