Solution
you will need a new power supply for sure, a 550w corsair standard is a good start, Your cpu is very good, I use it myself, 3570(k) = able for over clocking. I have overclocked my 3570k to 4.2GHz but that is because I use a lot of programs at once.
Windows 7 is a personal choice, I prefere it as it has very little background data and is very easy to use. you can also download a lot more helpful programs with windows 7 compared to Ubuntu.
for a cpu cooler you should look at the artic coolers, they are around £20 and are very good! Hope this all helps.

yes its now a very nice mid end build, the next purchase you should get is a new card for later games, there is the GTX STRIX 960 4GB card coming out soon for a very nice price! if that's too much you can get the strix 960 for £189 in most stores

So it should be able to run on most new games on high to ultra settings around 25-45 FPS?

the 960? I have the 760 and it runs battlefield 4 on ultra with 67 fps average and games like TERA 82 FPS, but I have also overclocked it, most graphics cards from NVidia are great performers, the best you can do is look on the specs online from what FPS the card you wish gets. the 960 STRIX would run games very smoothly.
