Hi everybody,

First off, I looked around for answers to this but it was awkward finding out how to word it for google searches and such. There's probably an answer to this question somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

I want a video capture card. Soon I'm going to be starting a small little tech blog just for fun and I was looking for some sort of way to record my screen between multiple OS's and even (if possible) in the BIOS screen and login screens for Linux. Could I achieve this with a video capture card?

Thanks,
-Chad

UPDATE: I have seen techies record startup and BIOS screens before, as well as Windows loading screens and the sort. A thought crossed my mind just after posting: would it work to run the video capture card from a second machine that I have in my house? Would that let me achieve what I'm after?

Hi, I have captured shutting down a computer using a Magewell capture card. It's not difficult. I used another computer and installed the capture card. The card is a DVI capture card, but it also captures VGA when I used a converter included with the card. Just disconnect the computer with monitor and use another computer to capture via VGA.
