'Very nice tutorial but I'm afraid would not be applicable to my friend's laptop since the hdd controller is broken, the host system where VMware will be installed should ran from the external hdd which I'm afraid is almost impossible in Windows 7. I got confused that why installing and running Windows 7 on an external drive not be applicable to his friend's laptop since the hdd controller is broken?
