Hello there,

I currently am waiting for to get myself a new High-End GPU that might beat every other GPU on the market except for Titan X (I can't afford a Titan X lol)

Going through a lot of articles I can see the AMD R9 390x is gonna be using a all new architect called High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) which is rumored to be of 8GB (or at least 4GB which is certain). A lot of the articles says R9 390x is going to beat GTX 980 or even the GTX 980 Ti at the first place. Moreover it might even give competition to Titan X but R9 395x2 is going to beat Titan x for certain. That's what I have just got to know reading a lot of articles. Well, My point is not asking you if those are true.

I just wanna know, Will R9 390x worth the price? What do you think the Prices are gonna be? And It should be on the market around June 2-6 so it must be available hereon my place (West Virginia, USA) too right?

I know AMD has an issue with Driver supports but other than that, Is this going to be a Great card? Lets not be biased about anything. :)

Solution
Everything is a rumor until the card is actually released or when the NDA is over. Release date is not confirmed it may be between 2th- 6th June. It may be after.

What do you think should at least the price be? Below 700$ ? Or at least 700$?

AMD is about value. If they do decide to release the R9 390X at a relatively high price they will not remain true to their strategy and the markets perception of them as a company.

That is a dangerous thing to do. If I am tempted to jump over to Nvidia you have lost me for a few years and I may never come back.

Having said that, the R9 290X released when bitcoin mining was really picking up and although the prices hot up becasue of that demand, the R9 290xx was nearer to $500 than $800.

The new tech bit, I don't buy. People wont buy the card en mass because of the new tech they will buy because of price v performance and the fact it is new to the market.

If yields are low on the new memory thats a problem as it encourages AMD to raise the price to reduce demand to solve the short term supply problem. That does nothing positive for their market position though.

Of course plenty of companies make mistakes and who is to say AMD wont over price the R9 390x

First of all i heard a lot of hype. About launch date rumor points to june 18th and june 24th. Price? What i heard so far it won't be cheap. There price will probably inflated above MSRP as well if the talk about HBM yeild was low is true. In any case it won't be long now. I know some people have been waiting for the card since late last year.

I agree. the card will probably launch in E3, because its E3. and the prices are rumored to be 400$ for the 390 and 650$-750$ for the 390x.

nah. i was just pointing to one of the rumor. there were a lot of rumor out there but i do take rumors from VCZ more seriously than others because they usually will not post an article on every rumor they can found just so they have article to post (ahem, WCCFTECH). in one of their latest post they talked about 380X will be tonga. the new R 300 series will also have hawaii rebrand (Grenada?) but since Fiji was supposed to be 390X/390 they are not sure where Hawaii rebrand will sit. not long after that another rumor surface (from another forum, not VCZ) suggesting that Fiji will only come out as a premium product like nvidia titan did. fudzilla already posting about Fiji will cost at 849 at launch.

at this point we just have to wait. we will see the truth very soon.
