I had 2x4gb Gskill ripjaws 2133mhz in my mobo and I added 2x4gb more and now my mobo shows only one RAM stick in BIOS and windows recognizes only 4gb of memory.

I have tried erasing RTC RAM with the jumper cap and also tried the same with first removing mobo's onboard battery and it still doesn't show more than one stick of RAM in bios or windows.

Im running out of options here.

G.SKILL FAQs:

Q:
I want to install more memory, in addition to my existing memory kit. What are my options?

A:
We do not recommend mixing memory kits, regardless of brand or model.

By mixing memory kits together, there may be compatibility issues such as unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications.

Each of our memory kit are thoroughly tested to ensure compatibility within each memory kit. And because we have not tested our memory kit with your existing memory kit, we cannot guarantee compatibility when multiple kits are used.

Well, you may need to test the RAM. First off, remove the new RAM & see if the old setup is recognized. If it is, there's something up with the new RAM, & you'll need to test each stick separately.

If the old sticks aren't being recognized as a pair, then something may have happened to the old RAM sticks or even the slots. Again, test each stick separately to see if it's recognized, then make sure you use the correct slots as per your motherboard manual.

Hope this didn't happen to you...

I have the same mobo but with two 8Gb sticks. Well, one day while doing a check up on everything I noticed that I was only running one stick at the 8Gbs... long story short, DIMM_1 Crapped out on the board so now I have to run dual channel in DIMM_3 & DIMM_4.

Hope this didn't happen to you, but I'd check because you may be able to RMA the mobo.
