So i brought an HP Deskjet 1512, and in the package it says it contains a chemical that can cause cancer. Should I be worried about this, and what is the likelyhood of this happening?

stickers such as this with reference to california? that state has rather odd and strict laws on such things and labeling. it really is quite silly.

motor oil for your car, gasoline and other common ingredients you come into contact with all the time also carry the same label. some food additives are even worse.

can chemicals cause cancer? possibly. you would need quite a bit of exposure and typically a great number of years to really need to worry about it though.

in short, no your home printer is not going to give you cancer.

You have a much better chance of tripping over the cord, having the printer fall on you and hurt you that way than it giving you cancer.
If you are not worried about it hurting you that way, don't worry at all about the cancer risk.

The main part is, don't move to California, seems if you do, all sorts of things that are fine elsewhere will harm you in that state :)

Also, don't drink the printer ink or smear it all over your body and sleep in it every day. You pretty much need to do that for it to do any damage to your body.
