This question has been asked a variety of ways, tons of times, but nobody ever directly answers it.

Consider:
F3-1866C10Q-32GZM
F3-14900CL10Q-32GBZL

They are effectively the same except the ZM and ZL.
Now, the ZL stands for Z - Series LOW and the ZM stands for Z-Series Medium.

Low and medium what?

Which is better?

EDIT:
I would also like to point out:
I am not asking because I am worried which one to buy.
Telling me that I won't notice a difference is irrelevant because I do not own and will never own either.
I want to know the specific meaning.

(Low, Medium and High, often tied to the CL where lower CL indicates higher performance),
directly off the gskill forums.

low, medium, high performance product lines according to gskill's numbering system. in this particular case however the products based on timings and frequency should perform equally and look to be identical. i cant say if the red version has higher binned chips or has other electrical differences (only gskill can tell you that) but based on specs released to us, they should be equivalent.

in short: pick your favorite color.

Right, their forums is where I got the information
Now, the ZL stands for Z - Series LOW and the ZM stands for Z-Series Medium.

I am wondering specifically what they mean by that....
Lower CL = Higher performance
In some cases, the low costs more than the medium.

I would also like to point out:

As with any RAM, compare the frequency and timings. DDR3-1600 CL9 Red DDR3-1600 CL8 Blue DDR3-1600 CL7 Black

In some cases they do overlap depending on series, so like ssddx mentioned it's a matter of preference. RipJaws Z is designed for quad channel X79, while X is for dual, but in many cases they can be used both ways so it's not so much of a concern.

Specifically, though, out of curiosity: What does the [M] and [L] (and possibly H) mean in
F3-1866C10Q-32GZ[[{M}]]
F3-14900CL10Q-32GBZ[[{L}]]
I know that M = medium and L = low
Low and medium what?

Comparing RAM is most effectively done by comparing frequencies and timings and my question is not USUALLY of any concern. However, in this case - it is my only concern.
I understand that the Z is for Z- series and do not need any further assistance in regard to series information. I simply can not find any resource on that very last letter.
